Detroit Vineyards

Building a brand (and product line) for Detroit’s only urban winery and tasting room.

Creative direction, brand design, packaging, print & social marketing, website, interior design

A new brand from scratch.

It started with a simple request: “we need a logo to put on the wine barrels.” Next came a set of four labels for the first four releases, which eventually grew into designing two full product lines, website, marketing and social materials, and even consulting on the purchase and interior design of the new tasting room. I worked closely with the owners, head winemaker and general manager to develop collateral as the company grew.

Wine packaging celebrating Detroit’s historic Art Deco architecture.

Detroit Vineyards’ main wine collection showcases metallic foils, Art Deco motifs and a rising sun. Each varietal’s label features its own unique color and pattern.

Tasting room

Detroit Vineyards tasting room and production facility is now housed in the former Stroh’s ice cream factory. I was able to consult on selecting the location and decorating it to reflect the Detroit Vineyards brand without losing the history of the space.
